The Colleges of Arcana is an association of private institutes, colleges, teachers, and loosely organized Wizards. Wizards are the first school of magic developed in Ithia by the Avatar of Septriss Witherward. They seek to learn and master all the Words of Power, making them the most versatile of casters. However, the long years of training mean most are older by the time they’re fully realized.

Wizards form their magic using Words of Power. Casting magic drains the Mind, causing thoughts to become sluggish and foggy. As there are many private institutes, colleges, and individual teachers, the Colleges of Arcana are not a unified organization. Most allow both genders and are often exclusively for the higher classes, as most charge for training.
