In the Hall of Magi in the City of Envangalis, the Capital of the Humanic Empire, is the Hall of Heroes, a vast collection of Lore, Journals, Books, Biographies, Autobiographies, Holy Books, and recorded histories worldwide. A place where scribes granted immortality for their service attempt to write down the world’s stories from the fragments of the past. Known to hunt down oral histories and find lost points of view, these servants of Septriss wish to record the past.
Shelves rise like the cliffs of a ravaging sea, and the sounds of battle, life, and birth ring from tomes bound in chains of lead, steel, and mithvalt. Scrolls, slabs, books, strange devices that repeat the voices of storytellers, charts, sculptures, and paintings fill the shelves. In the center is an ample open space where dozens of desks stand in rows before a larger one raised on a dais with a spiraling staircase leading to it.
The Scribes of Renown.
Master of the Hall Waltier Witherward. Avatar of Septriss’ Domain of Knowledge. They are the most potent of the Wizards. An ancient man with skin like aged paper and three colored monocles hang off him. His great pearl white beard has been brushed straight, covered in scrawled words, and at the end is bound to a wooden handle like a scroll. He often keeps it rolled up.
High Scribe Herald Lionguard. Editor of the tomes. Retired High Magi. An older man with thick, heavy glasses, a balding head, and a shaven face. His skin is covered in arcane tattoos, and he still sports some of his Magi build. He is a faithful servant of Mealis, a believer in the superiority of mankind, and pursues the recordings of heroes of the Evari and Mealis.
High Scribe Vincent Groth. Retired Grand Magi. Blessed Immortal of Mealis. Groth earned his immortality earlier than his counterpart Lionguard and retired after collecting an assortment of permanent injuries. He is well-muscled with a slightly greying black beard. His long black hair is kept in a braid. He firmly believes in Mealis and Zatolen, and was born in Norgath. Groth pursues records of tragedy, last stands, final charges, and brutal wars.
Honored Scribe Seviskal. Once apprentice to Sekivar. The only Septrinian in the Hall of Heroes, Seviskal, is a small, twisted creature with a large black armadillo shell. He is the smartest of the scribes and was present through the birth of the Humanic Empire and its cycles of falls and rises. He saw the destruction of the Greenskin homeland with the fall of the Moon Azure. He writes long epics and histories of the Septrinian.
Scribe Harrow Yarrow. Monk in service to Septriss. Yarrow started out as a monk and helper of the Hall of Hero. A slight man, pale, with black hair and often prone to fine, detailed facial hair from curled mustaches, goatees, and intricate, delicate creations yet named. Yarrow is well-mannered and helpful. His writings rarely involve death and tend to be more calm and cozy stories.
Scribe Silt the Inked. Professional flightless bird. Descendant of the Demi-god Siegfried the Scarlet. Silt is a typical black and green feathered Dollidoo, a large flightless bird cousin of the dodo bird and pigeon. Silt likes to write words. Silt is happy to be included. Silt writes about other Dollidoo heroes.
Scribe Mary Leer. Retired Hero. Found Princess of a Lost Land. Leer is petite and pale with long black hair. She is reserved and well-disciplined, having been raised to lead a kingdom as a first and only child. Leer enjoys recording the histories of heroic children, youth, mysteries, and romances. She avoids the gritty and grim.
Scribe Tir Ore. Retired Monster Hunter. Once Hero for Hire. Ore is a grim, gaunt, and pale man too tall for his weight. He is the tallest of the scribes, standing with Groth coming up to just under his shoulders. Ore is a grim, unpleasant man who is fascinated by monsters, horror, and death.
