The Hunting Caste of the Fae Courts

The Old Ones are the elite of the Hunter Caste of the Nature Court. They serve the Wild Hunt. They are gendered Fae, giant lumbering humanoids with soft brown fur, white fronts, heavy hooves, massive, clawed hands, and large sets of antlers. Some believe they were old gods that existed before the Fae bound and made into the first servants of the Fae Queens. They move as silently as a mouse, can flow through woods, forests, and jungles like water through a sieve, possess an aura of primordial terror, and are the strongest of the Giants.

The Kittails are members of the Hunter Caste of the Nature Court. They serve the Wild Hunt. They are feminine Fae, looking like humanoids, with long white hair, cat ears, and tail, and bark skin covering their lower torso, legs, and arms. Their long wooden claws splinter and worm through the flesh of their victims, making wounds hard to heal and causing further damage over time.

The Unus Venari are members of the Hunter Caste of the Nature Court. They serve the Wild Hunt. They are tall masculine Fae with dark purple skin, black-furred forearms, and lower legs, long black fur, white faces, antlers, and long black hair. They are highly organized and loyal when led by an Oberous but can turn quickly into wild violence when left unattended.

The Assertor are the elite of the Hunter Caste of the Order Court. They serve the Honey Hunt and serve as the elite slayers of iron. They are gendered Fae with pale skin, tattered emerald beetle wings, long horns resembling a stag beetle’s pincers, iridescent armor like the shell of a beetle, and an arm like a lance. Their lance arm causes iron to destabilize and explode on contact, and they are naturally immune to the powers of Chaos magic.

The Mantigladio are members of the Hunter Caste of the Order Court. They serve the Honey Hunt. They are androgynous Fae with four thin legs, an emaciated body, scythe-like blades that fold up, allowing the easy use of fingers, and short gliding wings. Their bodies have petal-like frills that give them the appearance of giant flowers when standing still. They are swift and agile.

The Requiem are members of the Hunter Caste of the Order Court. They serve the Honey Hunt. They are feminine Fae with six-bladed legs, forelimbs with pincers, a humanoid torso with maws full of teeth, and a long stinger-tipped tail. Their tails deliver a toxin that attaches to a fairy’s essence, causing them to wither away and die repeatedly over days, months, or even years, depending on the strength of the Requiem and the victim.

The Hari are members of the Hunter Caste of the Life Court. They serve the White Hunt. They are feminine Fae with long, powerful legs, snow-white hair, long hair ears, and delicate armor that protects the vitals but leaves the legs and arms unrestricted. They wear helmets that cover their eyes, and they rely solely on hearing to hunt their prey. Their ears are said to be so sensitive they can hear the thoughts of their enemies. They can channel the power of the Life Court into searing smites and resist magic.

The Faefin are members of the Hunter Caste of the Life Court. They serve the White Hunt. They are gendered Fae with four powerful clawed legs with scaled skin, a large, feathered body, giant pelican wings, and a humanoid torso with feathered shoulders. They are expert flyers specializing in snatching up prey and dropping them from heights.

The Dullahan are members of the Hunter Caste of the Death Court. They serve the Dark Hunt and Wild Hunt. They are gendered Fae with deathly pale skin, shark-like teeth, crescent-shaped ears, and headless bodies wreathed in ghostly flame, and they carry their heads tucked under one arm or lashed to their large shadowy steeds. They can summon ghostly fire and a shadowy steed and are hunting, tracking, and combat experts.

The Wentai are members of the Hunter Caste of the Death Court. They serve the Dark Hunt. They are androgynous Fae with emaciated bodies. Spiked collars bind their throats, preventing them from eating. They have long scraggly hair that covers their frostbitten bodies, fur covers their thighs and groin, and cloven hooves carry their corpse-like bodies. They can channel cold, hunger, and thirst, demoralizing their prey and causing slow but certain death.

The Went are members of the Hunter Caste of the Death Court. They serve the Dark Hunt. They are less corpse-like cousins of the Wentai with frostbitten legs and forearms. Short antlers, pointed ears, and large fangs that curve out of their mouths and dig into their faces under their thin lips. Their legs and arms are elongated, ending in small sharp claws. The Went, after tasting a victim’s blood, can follow them anywhere on a single plane of existence. They never forget a tasting.

The Discordian are members of the Hunter Caste of the Chaos Court. They serve the Mad Hunt. These strange serpentine Fae have long bodies with legs and arms, colorful long manes and beards, heavy tattooing, and a love of intricate hats. They are potent manipulators of chaotic and wild magic and assist the Mad Hunt as seekers and masters of teatime.

The Frosted Gnogol are members of the Hunter Caste of the Chaos Court. They serve the Mad Hunt. They are large bestial humanoid Fae made of living confections: large bodies of stale frosting, hard chocolate-encased forearms, and feet, armored caramel along their tooth-filled heads, and spiked backs. They have powerful senses of smell and hearing and serve as the hunting dogs of the Mad Hunt.

The Biggibad are members of the Hunter Caste of the Chaos Court. They serve the Mad Hunt. These giant feminine Fae are humanoids with furred legs with the pawed feet of a wolf, long clawed and furred arms, long hair resembling a wolf’s tail, and tall ears. These big fairies are some of the most physically potent members of the Chaos Court, rapidly recover from injuries, and can compress air to release significant gales of wind from their mouths.
